Starting in 2017 I started work on Kingdom Maker at KIXEYE as a Senior 3D Artist. Kingdom maker is a 4X strategy game. (developed in Unity game engine)
My roles changed depending on the project needs. I worked as a tech artist, animator, modeler, vfx artist, and wrote simple C# code in Unity when appropriate.
With that said here is a more detailed breakdown of my responsibilities.
Characters & Animations:
Created all characters in the game (over 50 characters). This includes modeling, rigging, texturing, animation (over 700 animation clips), shader work, VFX, sprites, controller state logic, documentation, and implementation.
Base Architecture:
Designed and implemented Architectures. This includes modeling, texturing, animation, and VFX.
County Architecture:
Modeled and textured some of the Map-Icons used in the county view. This also includes modifying textures when requested.
Cutaway Rooms & Animations:
All in all, I worked on over 40 rooms. Most of the work I was involved in was modifying existing rooms and updating them with desired changes. I have also created unique rooms/assets/props, including the outer walls in all keeps.
The usual tasks I was responsible for are the following: optimizing textures/UVs, modifying geo and adding new elements into the scene, creating new rooms, re-lighting scenes, adding/modifying VFX, adding animated props, generating nav mesh, and layout design.
*Original design/concept done by our in-house concept artist and environment artist.*
Modified our existing rooms, this includes re-lighting scenes, optimization, re-baking lightmaps, re-modeling, and adding new rooms. Also created all animations that take place within a room (over 500 animation clips used on 2D elites). This includes VFX, setting up nodes, and creating character animations.
